Executive Order on withdrawing Russian peacekeeping troops from Sudan

Dmitry Medvedev signed Executive Order On the Withdrawal of the Russian Armed Forces Military Unit Taking Part in the UN Peacekeeping Operation in the Republic of Sudan.

The Executive Order was issued in connection with the completion of the UN Mission in the Republic of Sudan in accordance with Security Council Resolution 1997 of July 11, 2011.

Russian soldiers honourably fulfilled the tasks of maintaining peace and security in the country.

According to the executive order, the Russian troops with the weapons, military equipment and inventory will return to Russia by April 1, 2012.

Earlier, part of the troops taking part in the UN peacekeeping operation returned to Russia in December 2011, in accordance with the Executive Order of the Russian President of November 23, 2011.
