Dmitry Medvedev submitted to the State Duma Draft Federal Law On the Elections of the Deputies to the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation.

Dmitry Medvedev met with the leaders of the seven officially registered political parties: United Russia, the Communist Party of the Russian Federation (CPRF), A Just Russia, the Liberal Democratic Party of Russia (LDPR), Yabloko, Patriots of Russia, and Right Cause.

Dmitry Medvedev discussed relevant issues such as modernising Russia’s political system and pursuing the country’s economic and social development with members of the Public Supporters’ Committee.

Dmitry Medvedev sent to the State Duma draft Federal Law On Amendments to the Federal Law On General Principles Governing the Organisation of Legislative (Representative) and Executive Bodies of State Power in the Constituent Entities of the Russian Federation.

Dmitry Medvedev signed a list of instructions on the implementation of measures outlined in the Presidential Address to the Federal Assembly.

Dmitry Medvedev submitted to the State Duma draft federal law On Amendments to Certain Legislative Acts of the Russian Federation to Exempt Political Parties from Collecting Voter Signatures at Elections of Deputies to the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, Government Authorities in the Federal Constituent Entities of the Russian Federation, and Local Self-Governments.

Dmitry Medvedev submitted to the State Duma draft federal law On Amendments to the Federal Law on Political Parties.

In particular, Dmitry Medvedev proposed a number of initiatives to further develop the country's political system. In addition, the President outlined his position on the main directions of domestic and foreign policy, economic modernisation and social development, defence and security.

The meeting with leaders of parliamentary parties addressed wide range of issues concerning the improvement of the political system.
