Dmitry Medvedev signed Executive Order On Head of the Interior Ministry's Main Department for St Petersburg and the Leningrad Region.

Dmitry Medvedev signed Executive Order releasing Mikhail Sukhodolsky from his post of head of the Interior Ministry’s Main Department for St Petersburg and Leningrad Region.

The President summed up the results of the reforms at the ministry, assessed its work over 2011, and outlined the priority tasks for the coming period.

Dmitry Medvedev presented the banner of the Federal Drug Control Service to its director, Viktor Ivanov.

Dmitry Medvedev held a meeting with internal affairs agencies’ workers during a visit to the Interior Ministry’s Main Directorate for the Moscow Region.

During a visit to the Interior Ministry’s Main Directorate for the Moscow Region, Dmitry Medvedev presented state decorations to Interior Ministry officers and military servicemen for their distinguished service in defending public order.

During the meeting, Dmitry Medvedev informed Alexander Bastrykin that he had signed the Executive Order on additional benefits and compensation to employees, federal civil servants and the staff of the Investigative Committee’s inquiry agencies, exercising professional activities in the North Caucasus, as well as their families.

Dmitry Medvedev met with senior officials and investigators from the Interior Ministry, Prosecutor General’s Office, Investigative Committee, and with civil society representatives.

At the gala evening, Dmitry Medvedev congratulated workers and veterans of internal affairs agencies on their professional holiday. The President also warmly thanked the Interior Ministry veterans, many of whom fought in the Great Patriotic War and were engaged in other conflicts.

Dmitry Medvedev visited the Department of the Interior for Moscow's Akademichesky District, where he learned about the work of the Centre for Operational and Investigative Information and met with Interior Ministry officers.

The President signed Executive Order approving the regulations on the Russian Federation Interior Ministry Public Council.

Dmitry Medvedev signed Executive Order on the Presidential Commission on Personnel Policy at Law Enforcement Agencies.

Dmitry Medvedev summarized results of special certification of law enforcement officers, as well as work of the Commission for Special Certification of the Russian Federation Law Enforcement Agencies’ Personnel Applying for Senior Positions. The President made a decision to continue the Commission’s work on a permanent basis. In addition, Chairman of the Investigative Committee Alexander Bastrykin reported to the President on results in the investigation of the Bulgaria cruise ship accident.

In accordance with the Federal Law On the Police Force, the President issued executive orders on appointments to senior Interior Ministry posts.

Dmitry Medvedev informed the Interior Minister that he had signed the law on social guarantees for Interior Ministry employees.

Dmitry Medvedev signed Federal Law On Social Guarantees for employees of the Russian Federation law enforcement agencies and Amendments to Certain Legislative Acts of the Russian Federation.
