The meeting discussed, in particular, further increase of housing construction volumes, ways to improve mortgage lending system, development of rentals institution, implementation of programmes to provide housing to veterans, servicemen and large families.

During a working visit to the region Dmitry Medvedev visited the new residential district in Yekaterinburg and attended the opening of a new metro station.

During his trip to the Krasnodar Territory, Dmitry Medvedev visited the 393^rd Sevastopol military air base in Korenovsk and viewed the new residential area Rainbow, built for the servicemen of the Southern Military

Dmitry Medvedev congratulated graduates of military academies and universities on successfully completing their studies.

The plans for development of the Armed Forces and other military organisations through 2015 and development prospects through 2020 as well as legal mechanisms for provision of housing to the servicemen were the subjects of discussion.

Dmitry Medvedev took part in an expanded meeting of the Defence Ministry Board, summing up the results of the Armed Forces’ activities in 2010, and clarifying this year’s objectives.

Dmitry Medvedev visited a housing complex being constructed in the Podolsk County, Moscow Region, and examined construction plans for building housing for military personnel in various regions of Russia.
