Vladimir Putin sent his congratulations to Vladimir Volkov on his official investiture as Head of the Republic of Mordovia.

The United Russia leaders presented to Vladimir Putin the party’s candidates for the posts of the head of the Republic of Mordovia and the governor of Samara Region.

The President signed Executive Order On Early Termination of the Mandate of the Head of the Republic of Mordovia. Vladimir Volkov was appointed acting Head of the Republic of Mordovia.

Dmitry Medvedev held a meeting of the State Council Presidium on increasing state guarantees of consumer rights protection, met with the head of the republic Nikolai Merkushkin. The President also visited the Techno-Park Mordovia computer centre and one of the city’s auto service centres.

Mr Merkushkin briefed the President on forest fire prevention measures being taken in the region. Implementation of the President’s initiative to decentralise some federal powers to the regional level was also discussed.

The President of Russia submitted for consideration by the National Assembly of the  Republic of Mordovia the candidacy of Nikolai Merkushkin for the post of President of the Republic of Mordovia.

The United Russia leaders presented to Dmitry Medvedev the party’s proposed candidacies for the posts of the Governor of Tyumen Region and the Head of the Republic of Mordovia.

Emergency Situations Minister Sergei Shoigu briefed Dmitry Medvedev on the situation with the wildfires in Russia and the fire-fighting measures that have been taken.
