Vladimir Putin had a telephone conversation with Prime Minister of the United Kingdom David Cameron on the British side’s initiative.
The conversation focused primarily on the crisis situation in Ukraine. In particular, President of Russia noted the paramount importance of a rapid and unconditional implementation of the April 17, 2014 Geneva Statement stipulations by the authorities in Kiev to de-escalate the tensions in the country.
The heads of Russia and the United Kingdom agreed that the sharp political standoff can only be resolved by peaceful means.
The leaders agreed to continue a bilateral exchange of opinions at various levels.
