In Saratov Region, Dmitry Medvedev had a meeting with commanders of the 60^th Division's missile regiments. The issues discussed included the Armed Forces’ re-equipment, improvement of service conditions and social benefits for the servicemen.

Dmitry Medvedev presented state decorations to officers of the 626 Missile Regiment for achievements in strengthening national defence and professional excellence.

Dmitry Medvedev met with leaders of political parties not officially registered by the state authorities. Development of the national political system was the main subject of discussion.

Dmitry Medvedev presented Russian Federation state decorations to eleven foreign citizens in recognition of their great contribution to developing cooperation and strengthening cultural ties with Russia. 

Dmitry Medvedev was briefed on progress made in implementing presidential instructions, in particular with regard to providing housing to the Great Patriotic War (1941-1945) veterans, increasing the efficiency of utilities services, boosting the birth rate and rendering support for families with many children.

Dmitry Medvedev met with the leaders of the seven officially registered political parties: United Russia, the Communist Party of the Russian Federation (CPRF), A Just Russia, the Liberal Democratic Party of Russia (LDPR), Yabloko, Patriots of Russia, and Right Cause.

Dmitry Medvedev held a meeting on implementation of the Strategy 2020 national social and economic development concept. 

The meeting discussed, in particular, further increase of housing construction volumes, ways to improve mortgage lending system, development of rentals institution, implementation of programmes to provide housing to veterans, servicemen and large families.

Mr Lebedev briefed Dmitry Medvedev on the Supreme Court’s performance results for 2011. Improvements to the criminal procedure legislation were also discussed at the meeting. 

Dmitry Medvedev met with the members of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) Coordination Commission in Sochi.

The President summed up the results of the reforms at the ministry, assessed its work over 2011, and outlined the priority tasks for the coming period.

Dmitry Medvedev held a meeting with Foreign Ministry staff on the eve of their professional holiday, the Diplomats' Day.

Dmitry Medvedev presented the banner of the Federal Drug Control Service to its director, Viktor Ivanov.

Dmitry Medvedev awarded the President’s Prize in Science and Innovation for Young Scientists for 2011 to Alexander Blagov, Pavel Kovalev, Viktor Orlov, Vladimir Komlev, and Andrei Raigorodsky.
